Bosch, a German supplier of technology and services, has concluded plans to expand its business operations in Nigeria over the next three years, The Punch reports.
The Managing Director, Bosch Nigeria, Ghislain Noumbessy, gave this indication at a press briefing on Tuesday. The company, in a statement, said that it was part of its strategic plans to grow its global sales turnover to €200m in Africa by 2020. In 2016, the company had set a target of 25 per cent growth in turnover in Nigeria and €40m across West Africa. It added that the move would provide significant value addition to the Nigerian economy and its population.
The Bosch Group’s President for Africa, Markus Thill, was quoted as saying, “With an estimated population of more than 206 million by 2020, Nigeria is a strategically important market for Bosch. Our company provides solutions in sectors such as infrastructure, automotive, food processing and energy, which enhance quality of life of the growing Nigerian population by making it safer, easier and more efficient.”
